The Mubadala World Tennis Championship, now in its fifth year, is one of the region’s most eagerly anticipated sporting event bringing six of the world’s top tennis players to the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City. Players
This year's line-up is the most competitive in the tournament's history and welcomes back British #1 and World #3 Andy Murray who is looking to retain his 2009 title. He is joined by World #1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic alongside two time champion and World #4 Rafael Nadal. The remainder of the field, all within the top 10 in the world, includes the fiery World #5 David Ferrer and World #6, Tomas Berdych rounded out with the competitive World #9 Janko Tipsarevic.
With pride at stake, rivalries will be renewed when these global tennis icons play to a sold-out stadium of 5,000 spectators per day. Millions around the world will tune in to watch an event that is now firmly established on the global tennis calendar as one of the most admired tennis events.
Alongside the stars competing this year at the three day event, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship will feature a multitude of other attractions including a unique spectator village full of family-friendly interactive components and exciting activities to engage and entertain visitors. Through community engagement initiatives like the Mubadala Community Cup and the Mubadala Tennis In Schools Programme, the Championship has quickly established itself as one of the premier events on the UAE event calendar while it works to raise awareness of the benefits of tennis and the importance of living an active healthy lifestyle, whilst leaving a legacy for the community beyond the tournament.
Format
Six of the world's top men's players will compete in a single elimination series of matches with two players being given a bye from Thursday's Day 1 matches on 27th December 2012. Semi-Final matches will take place on Day 2 (Friday, 28th December 2012) with the final and consolation (3rd & 4th place) matches taking place on Day 3 (Saturday 29th December 2012).
Note: First match begins at 5:00 pm on Day 1 allowing the UAE community to finish the working day. Day 2 and 3 matches will begin at 3:00 pm

The tournament features strong line-up with six of the top nine ranked players taking part. Nole, Murray, Rafa, Ferrer, Berdych and Tipsarevic will contend for the title at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex at Zayed Sports City (December 27-29).
No.1 seed received a BYE to the last four, and will face the winner of the match between David Ferrer (ESP, 4) and Tomas Berdych (CZE,5) on the second day of the championship at 15.00 local time (12.00 noon CET).
The second semi-final will see second-seeded Spaniard Rafael Nadal (ESP) take on either Andy Murray (GBR, 3) or Janko Tipsarevic (SRB, 6).
Final match will take place on Saturday, December 29, at 17.00 local time (14.00 CET).
A third-place play-off will be held before the final, at 15.00 local time (12.00 noon CET).
Nole won the event last year beating Gael Monfils (6-2, 4-6, 6-2), Roger Federer (6-2, 6-1) and David Ferrer (6-2, 6-1).
